“I enjoy meeting people and having a quick chat when I can. It’s good knowing I’m helping get their freight delivered safely.”
Meet Barrak Bidewy – father of three, Allied Express driver of three years, and a guy who genuinely loves being on the road.
“I’m lucky to enjoy some of the best views in Australia. Driving through the Eastern Suburbs, especially near the water, is hard to beat.”
Barrak averages 50–60 drops a day and says people don’t always realise how much planning goes into ensuring every delivery is completed safely.
“Traffic and delivery requirements can change quickly, so staying calm and coordinating your drops efficiently is key.”
He enjoys the independence that comes with being an owner-driver and says being his own boss gives him responsibility and flexibility.
He also gives a shout out to 106.5 KIIS FM and Budget Petrol for keeping him and his 4.5T truck moving through every shift.
“And I really value the people I work with at Allied Express – there is good support across the network and strong teamwork behind the scenes.”
When he’s not in his truck, Barrak enjoys walking and taking his kids to see the Bulldogs.
“They’re huge fans!”
